Abundance

Robust soils are the essence of any healthy garden. My interest in the microbiology of soil is rooted in the fact that the health of our plants begins and ends with the level of microbial diversity in the soil.

Organisms live in the microscale environments within and between soil particles. Shifts in soil vitality occur on a microclimate level; moisture, pH, pore size, and the types of organic matter available create a broad range of habitats. Dirt doesn’t turn to soil overnight; compacted soils transform over time and with proper care and restoration.

By choosing gardening methods that allow for beneficial soil microbes to be present and abundant, we create the opportunity for healthy, rich soils. Providing the opportunity for abundance through my work with clients is my passion.
